About

I'm an AI Product Manager. Along the way I've worked in retail, a startup, sales, B2B and a large company.

Each stage gave me a piece. Today I put them all together: I understand the whole business, and I build too.

Brico Dépôt · 2016–2018

Learning to work

The piece: the customer

My first proper job was at Brico Dépôt. I was the youngest manager in the store.

There I learnt to coordinate a team, to work with the customer in front of me and, more broadly, how to work.

There came a point where I couldn't grow the way I wanted. So I went looking for startups.

TuLotero · 2018–2021

A real startup

The piece: product and tech teams

I started in customer support. Eight months later I was running product.

I worked side by side with development, UX/UI and customer support. I learnt agile on the job, at the pace the company needed.

I helped bring lottery games to mobile. People had played them on paper for decades. It worked: retention and word of mouth.

The less visible side fell to me too. Dealing with public bodies in Mexico. Setting up the company in Colombia and Bolivia with local accountants and lawyers. 15 days in Mexico City to get operations stable.

I ended up running an operation of more than 30 people in two countries. Meanwhile, the company went from around 10 million in gross revenue to nearly 100.

Three years at full speed, every day. I needed to stop and think, so I started a master’s in Project Management.

My master’s in people

The piece: people

They called me in the middle of my master’s. They wanted a sales lead with an analytical mind, someone who could build processes and continuous improvement into teams that ran on emotion.

I had 13 salespeople reporting to me. Sales went from 400–500 to 700–800 cars a month.

It wasn't magic. It was spotting what the best salespeople did and copying it across the whole team.

I designed the commission scheme: one that motivated the team without breaking the economics of each sale.

It was my year of learning to manage people. I was happy, but not satisfied. When I was offered a way back into startup mode, I couldn't say no.

WinView (Lacía) · 2022–2026

B2B for real

The piece: B2B and discovery

I arrived to find clients already signed and no product yet. The job was to do discovery with them and define a core product that could serve very different needs and commitments.

Then came rolling it out and configuring it at companies with more than 300 million in revenue. At one point I had more than 10 roll-outs running at once.

I gave pre-sales demos in person all over Spain. I set up processes and tools for sales and implementation.

The big change was the model: we went from custom builds to a configurable product.

WinView entered a period of pause, and I took the chance to see how product is done at a large company.

All in all, three years learning B2B for real.

It was time to tighten our belts, and the product narrowed to the essentials. I no longer saw the growth I was looking for there, so I made the move and left.

OCU · 2026–present

Transforming from within

The piece: digital transformation

I joined because of how ambitious the project was: turning a magazine subscription business into a digital products and services company.

I work on new business models for members, with AI where it adds something.

Here I use every piece at once.

Outside work

In my free time I build products. You'll find them in Projects.

With everything happening in AI, and wanting to understand the technical side more deeply, I've started a Computer Engineering degree at the UOC (Open University of Catalonia). It's also a hobby.

At home I build things as well: a NAS that backs up the phones, a server for watching films, a mini app for the gym, a retro console…

Away from the screen: padel, travel and the dogs. And China, which is special to me. I love its culture, its food and what little I've seen of the country in person.

Education

  • Master’s in Product Management · UNIR
  • Master’s in Project Management · EAE
  • MBA · ThePowerMBA
  • Computer Engineering · UOC, in progress

I'm studying at the UOC out of technical curiosity, not for the qualification.
